About

Chris Miller

I started this blog in the Autumn of 2018.  It is mainly about my artwork but will also have some musings, poems, and commentary.  I live in Bristol, UK, and at the time of writing I mostly worked from home, a small apartment in the Harbourside area of town.  There are plenty of distractions within a short walk, especially the Tobacco Factory, where I can be found most Sunday evenings enjoying the free live music.

I enjoy working with textiles and this includes dyeing and printing, (including mono-print, screen print, digital and relief print) embellishing, stitching, quilt making, clothes, dolls, furnishing, sculpture and occasional other art works.

I also design and make laser-cut plywood self-assembly toys and models, (Miller Toys & Models), sometimes make prints, artist’s books, cartoons, and books for children.  Some of these may be found on the Home page or in the Gallery.

Spending time with my grandchildren is my great joy.  In the summer of 2018 I completed a Master’s degree in Multi-Disciplinary Print Making at the University of the West of England (UWE), a most enjoyable experience spread over three years. I now often travel around the UK in my motorhome, sometimes to festivals.

The Master’s degree in Multi-Disciplinary Print Making at UWE is a great course and I met the most wonderful, talented people, I would strongly recommend this study and it’s associate MA courses in both  Fine Art and Design.

Updated 2023 – I now live in the Redfield area of east Bristol and sometimes enjoy live music at The Plough, Easton, a famous, friendly hangout.
